Our guests get some hands-on involvement during our safari. We will provide a guide, a chef, food, tents, and sleeping equipment; but we ask that guests participate in activities such as setting up tents and helping prepare meals. The accommodations consist of 2-person canvas bow tents, bedrolls with mattresses, duvets and pillows. There will also be a dining table, trailer for luggage, a kitchen light, a spotlight for night drives, and a Toyota land cruiser modified for safaris.

Every type of mopane habitat is well represented in this drive, from the towering cathedral woodlands in Xakanaxa to the classic climax mopane woodland. It is also a good birding area.
Day 2: Exploration of the Reserve
After our continental breakfast we will set out to experience the famous Moremi Game Reserve. On this day we will have an early morning and a late afternoon drive with a siesta in between.
Day 3: Full Day Excursion
We will pack our picnic lunch box and set out for a spectacular morning drive. This can be followed by an optional boat excursion along Moanachira Channel, which is part of the mighty Okavango Delta. This will give us enough time to explore the abundance of game and have an unforgettable bush experience.
Day 4: Maun
After breakfast, we will drive back to Maun where your guide will drop you where you will be staying or dropping you at the airport if you are flying out.

Day 3: Khwai Concession
For another wildlife experience, you will take a morning drive from Moremi Game Reserve to Khwai Concession and stay at a different campsite. The Khwai Concession is located on the northern boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve and the eastern edge of the Okavango Delta. This area is rich in wildlife; sightings of large predators such as lions and leopards are common in the area. Birders can look forward to Kingfishers, wattled cranes, and many other bird species. This area encompasses wetlands, so water activities such as mokoro/canoe are a popular option to experience the flood plains formed by the Okavango Delta.
Day 4: Khwai Exploration
After a healthy breakfast, we will set out to explore and experience the abundance of wildlife in this pristine area. We aim to be back in camp by noon, but if we are lucky with game viewing, we will take our time out there. After our lunch there will be time for a shower and a siesta before we set out for our afternoon activity till sundown. A mokoro / canoe trip is an option for this afternoon.

Part of the great Makgadikgadi complex, Nxai Pan National Park covers an area of 2,100 sq. km and comprises several larger pans which were once ancient salt lakes. These larger pans are now grassy and are scattered with islands of acacia trees, along with smaller pans that fill with water during the rainy season – thus providing rich resources for wildlife such as zebras, elephants, wildebeest, lions, brown hyenas, and cheetahs. Here, we will spend a night in an exclusive BOGA (Botswana Guides Association) site, away from other people.
Day 2: Explore Nxai
After breakfast, we will head out for a game drive to experience the natural habitat, beautiful landscape, and wildlife in this area. When we come back from the morning drive, lunch will be served at the camping area. Later in the day we will sit at the waterhole, the only one for miles around. If the rainy season hasn’t started yet, this water hole will be incredibly busy with wildlife. Sunsets at the water hole can be spectacular – animals will be silhouetted against the setting sun. We will then return to our camp after sunset and enjoy great food and drinks around a fire.
Day 3: Makgadikgadi
We will drive for 4 hours from Nxai Pan through Baines Baobabs to Khumaga in Makgadikgadi. Baines Baobabs get their name for the artist and explorer Thomas Baines who first painted them in 1962 while travelling with the explorer James Chapman in this deserted area of Botswana. We will stop here for lunch before proceeding with our journey. Makgadikgadi Pans National Park covers an area of 3,900 sq. km, and we will spend 2 nights here in a public campsite where we will be able to view the village of Khumaga across the Boteti River. Hundreds of zebra congregate here to drink and provide great opportunities for photos. There are numerous birds of prey in this area: namely vultures, owls and eagles. We will take game drives along the river to see hippos and crocodiles. White rhinos were released here several years ago, but they are seldom seen.
Day 4: Explore Makgadikgadi
We will do a morning drive along the Boteti River to experience the diversity of fauna and flora species of this area. We will likely see herds of zebras and wildebeest concentrate along the Boteti River. After our morning drive, we will eat lunch and then have time for a siesta. During the afternoon, we will head out for an excursion until sundown. Another option for this day is to pack a picnic lunch and take a whole day’s drive which would give us time to cover more area and spend more time on sightings.
Day 5: Ntwetwe Pan
After a continental breakfast, we will take a morning drive around the Boteti River and have a bush lunch at a picnic site. Afterwards, our drive will lead us to the Ntwetwe Pan to sleep out under the amazing African sky for a night. The Ntwetwe is one of the three large pans within the Makgadikgadi, the other two being Nxai Pan and Sua Pan. Ntwetwe Pan is now a seasonal lake which fills during the rainy season. Ntwetwe was first described to the European world by David Livingstone, as part of his exploration of this region. Significant archaeological discoveries have occurred in this area, including Stone Age tools from people who lived in this area.

We will rise early, eat breakfast, and then bring a packed lunch for a full day excursion. We will eat lunch at Baines Baobab before starting our drive back to the campsite. Baines baobabs have their name for the artist and explorer Thomas Baines who first painted them in 1962 while travelling with the explorer James Chapman in this deserted area of Botswana. One of the must- see destinations for those visiting the park, the seven baobabs are also known by the name of “seven sisters” or “the sleeping sisters.” The salt lake near the Baines baobabs is dry for most of the year, though during the rainy season it is filled with a thin layer of water which creates a spectacular mirror effect for the baobab trees. The Baines baobab have fascinated many travelers over the years, including Prince Charles of England who visited them several times.
Day 4, 5 & 6: Central Kalahari Game Reserve
We will begin day 4 with breakfast served in camp and the head out to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. We will have to drive a bit of a distance, so we will bring a packed lunch and eat it at a picnic spot along the way. We will then arrive at the Central Kalahari Game Reserve to camp in luxury tent accommodations. The CKGR is the world’s second largest wildlife reserve. It covers a sprawling terrain dominated by grasslands, and it is home to wildlife such as giraffes, cheetahs, hyenas and wild dogs. Dirt tracks wind south through the reserves’ remote landscapes to the Piper’s Pan area. The land is mostly flat and gently undulating, with bush and grasses covering the sand dunes and areas of larger trees. Many of the river valleys are fossilized with salt pans. Four fossilized rivers (including Deception Valley) meander through the reserve which began to form around 16,000 years ago. The Bushmen or San have inhabited the lands for thousands of years since they roamed the area as nomadic hunters. The rest of our stay here will entail morning and afternoon drives through all the pans found in the area.

It is known for its abundance in wildlife species and beautiful landscape covered with grassy marshes and scattered rocky outcrops. Amazing cat sightings, such as lions and leopards, have helped make this place so memorable for visitors. This is also a good place for large herbivores such as elephants, giraffes, zebras and buffaloes. Regarding birdlife, you might spot Kori Bustards, Secretary birds, and different types of eagles here. We will enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush and arrive in camp mid-afternoon in time to still make a short sundown drive. A superb bush dinner will be ready when we get to camp, and the campfire will welcome us. We will do morning and afternoon drives during our stay here.
Day 7 & 8: Chobe Riverfront
In the morning we will make our last game drive in Savuti and then head north to the Chobe River, our final destination. We will pass some traditional villages along the road and have plenty possibilities for “lunch with a view.” We will arrive at camp mid-afternoon and then take a sunset drive along the river. The following day, we will experience spectacular morning and afternoon game drives, followed by an optional sunset cruise on the Chobe River. We will witness a huge concentration of game along Chobe’s stunning river landscape. Chobe National Park was established in 1968 and it is Botswana’s first National Park. This park is known for its large population of elephants and cape buffaloes.
Day 9: Kasane
After our breakfast, we will start with a morning drive as we go to Kasane where we will drop you off. If you are going to Zimbabwe or Zambia, we will drop you at the Kazungula border post depending on what time your transfer from the border will be.
